Autumn Activities for Preston Residents

Oct 24 2016

This autumn, we think our residents should take the opportunity to spend more time outdoors. Whether you attend a City street festival, or simply stroll through a park, there's no shortage of fun in Toronto this season. So, grab a sweater and a coffee, and experience all that the city has to offer. Need help deciding your next fall activity? Preston has got you covered!

Visit A Pumpkin Patch

Experience a festive family-friendly fall activity by visiting a pumpkin patch near you. You'll find all your jack-o-lantern needs, and perhaps a new fall recipe to take home. Preston residents can find the closest pumpkin patches on Whittamore Farm's Pumpkinland or at the Reesor Farm Market. (Bonus: both include fun and challenging mazes!)

Explore A Bike Trail

There's no shortage of scenic bike trails in the city. The crisp weather and the changing colours are sure to make for a charming workout. For our residents renting apartments in East York, check out Taylor Creek, the Don Valley Trails, or the Crothers Woods. If you're renting an apartment in Scarborough, you'll find the closest City bike trails along the East Don Parkland or the Betty Sutherland Trail Park.

Snap Photos in a Park

Toronto becomes very photogenic as the leaves start to turn colours. City parks make for a great background for your next Facebook (or Twitter) profile picture. Any park by the Don Valley River will be close to home for Preston residents, including the Don Valley Brickworks Park, Sunnybrook Park, and Edwards Gardens. If you're willing to venture further into the city, visit the local favourite, High Park.

Dress Your Pet Up For Halloween

Preston Apartments is proud to be pet-friendly, which is why we think you should take your furry friend out for Halloween! Check out Purina PawsWay's Halloween Party for a one-of-a-kind pet center. Purina PawsWay hosts several pet-friendly events and exhibits all throughout the year. The event takes place on Saturday October 29th between 1:30 pm - 5 pm. Bonus points for sharing your photos on our Facebook page!

Visit the Toronto Christmas Market

Get into the holiday spirit early this year by visiting the Distillery District's Toronto Christmas Market. Ranked one of the top 10 Holiday Markets in the world, it is a must-see for all Torontonians. Award-winning singers and bands will be taking the stage, and carollers will be roaming the market daily. Heads up to Preston pet-owners: Santa hosts pet photos in his house on Tuesdays between 2pm – 7:30pm. Don't forget to look out for the mistletoes!

Renting an apartment in Toronto sure does have its perks. All activities listed on this post are either free or come at a small entrance fee. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for more tips on having fun in Toronto!
